Service Opportunities

Ebenezer is assembling buckets for UMCOR as part of our spring mission focus. The buckets will then be distributed to neighborhoods that have been hurt by flood waters. The kits can be used by residents or by teams of volunteers who come in to assist with clean up efforts. UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on Relief) is our church's disaster response agency. Flood Clean Up Team Ebenezer is sending a team of 15 people to Tennessee on April 9-14 to help with rebuilding efforts following 2010 and 2011 spring flooding. The team will be staying at a church's Family Life Center, which has a kitchen, showers, WiFi and cable TV. Rebuilding is the focus, but special construction skills are not needed. Middle School Students Youth group February 5 from 4:00-5:30 PM! Come find out what the Super Bowl and Light have in common!

Ash Wednesday Pancake Supper February 22, 5:00-7:00 PM. Student Axis, EUMC's high school ministry, will be serving a Pancake Supper prior to the Ash Wednesday service to support their summer mission trip. All proceeds go towards the Axis Summer Mission Trip. Registration is not required but helpful for planning purposes. Boy Scouts of America Celebration Sunday, February 12. All Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts & Venturers, wear your uniforms to church! We are looking for youth to assist with ushering and greeting people. Cherub Choir for children age 3- 1st grade starts rehearsals on Thursday, February 16 from 6:15-7:00 PM in the Gathering Room.

Celebration Singers for children in 2nd through 5th grade starts rehearsals on Thursday, February 16 from 7-8:00 PM in the Gathering Room.

24 Hours that Changed the World: Church-Wide Study Sunday, February 26 through Sunday, April 8. Details at ebenezerumc.org/24hours.

24 Hour Prayer Vigil Friday February 17-Saturday February 18, noon to noon in the Sanctuary to kick off our church wide Lenten study. Sign up at ebenezerumc.org/24hours or at the Connection Desk. The Stations of the Cross will be set up as well as some creative ways to approach God as we collectively pray for our church and reflect upon the atonement of Jesus Christ. You can sign up in 15 minute increments online or when you register for the study. Let's fill the entire 24 hours with prayer!
