Employment Opportunities

Director of Serve  This position is responsible for leading the church in the mission and outreach ministry and for facilitating transformation through service both within the church and through outreach in the community.  This position is 30 hours per week.  Regular duties include but are not limited to the following:  raising the value of service and encourage new ideas and ministries that will stimulate the desire to serve within EUMC and the community; developing short and long-range goals for ministry;  providing spiritual leadership and expertise for continued development; coordinate and integrate service education throughout all church areas;  recruit, train and mobilize lay leaders for involvement. Children’s Worship Bulletins for children attending the worship services are located at the back of the sanctuary.  Ask an usher to help you locate them. 

Easter egg donation Plastic Eggs filled with wrapped candy are needed.  Drop off eggs in the Gathering Room in the blue buckets February 27 through March 20.  The Easter party breakfast will be held, Saturday, March 27, 9:00-11:00 AM.  Register online beginning March 1.  

Scholastic Book Fair Sunday, March 7, room 101 between morning services. The fair will also be open 9:30 AM-12:00 PM from March 2 through March 5.  All are welcome. Proceeds will benefit the weekday preschool. Kid’s Care Employee Openings  Adults age 18 and above may apply for this position.  You must be willing to submit to a background check, abide by the Church Child Protection Policy, be certified in CPR/1st Aid/AED (the church will provide the training) and complete training.  We especially need morning workers at this time.  Moms, you may bring your young children to work with you if needed. Attention all middle and high school students Don’t miss a chance to “Walk with Christ to the Cross!”  at the Planet Wisdom Conference March 12-13 for students in grades 6-12. It will feature the band Dutton and the Skit Guys.   The cost is $40.00. Permission slips are on the website or on the Student Ministries’ bulletin boards. Crossroads 18-30 Ministry Check us out on the web at crossroads.ebenezerumc.org.  You will find information about the ministry as well as the time and place for the weekly small groups.

Sermon Based Discussion classes on Sunday morning during Lent at 9:30 in room 203 and 11:00 AM in room 207, these classes will meet to discuss the sermon, scriptures verses, applicable questions and how it all applies to us as Christians in the 21st century.  Participants are welcome to go right to the classrooms listed above.  Registration forms are at the board next to the registration box, online or stop by the classrooms listed above.  Registration is not required but encouraged.

Marriage Seminar, March 6 with feature speaker Dr. Jim Burns from Homeword.com.  All married and engaged couples are invited to attend.  The topics to be covered are: Creative Romance in your Marriage, Becoming a Better Communicator in your Marriage, and Principles for Drawing Couples Together.  The cost is $15.00 per couple.  This non-refundable fee includes a continental breakfast and mid-morning snack.  Childcare is available for those that pre-register. United Methodist Women Health Fair with Zubatomic demos, March 6 9:00 AM-2:00 PM in the Gathering Room.  The purpose is to provide a variety of resources and information.  Everyone is invited to attend this educational event. Zumbatomic (kids) demo with participation at 9:15 AM,  Zumba demo with participation at 9:45 AM and 1:00 PM. Missions & Outreach

YES WE CAN! Ebenezer is reaching out to our local neighbors who find themselves without basic needs. S.E.R.V.E., Stafford County’s local food bank, has nearly empty shelves. Our goal is to collect 40,000 pounds of non-perishable food items and toiletries throughout Lent to RESTOCK the pantry. Help us meet our goal by bringing items to the Gathering Room during any service or event you attend throughout Lent.

The YES WE CAN Planning Team’s suggestion of the week encourages you to continue journaling as we learned in last week’s sermon.  In keeping with thoughtful reflection, save your spare change to donate to those in need.
