STEP stands for Super Terrific Ebenezer Preteens and is for 4th and 5th graders.  It's a pre-youth group experience where they can participate in church activities and learn about Christ; yet have fun with their friends while growing spiritually.

We hold monthly meetings from September to May on the fourth Saturday of each month from 7-8:30 PM (dates do change sometimes due to the Stafford County School calendar or inclimate weather).  Our meetings focus on fellowship, spiritual, social, and mission growth.  Some of the things we have done in the past are: held a scavenger hunt, beach night, tailgating party, Super Sports Night, karaoke, DDR, Christmas caroling & gift exchange, backwards dinner night, and lock-ins.

We have participated in mission events including making greeting cards for Hope House and the Parker Adult Care Home, collected canned food for S.E.R.V.E., worked in our church landscaping, made cards for Operation Quiet Comfort, visited an adult care home, boxed food for families at Thanksgiving, and more.

Our monthly lessons go with our theme for the month and are Biblically based.

Upcoming Events

Our weekday preschool program offers 3 and 4-year-olds the opportunity to learn in a safe Christian environment. We offer two day and three day 3-year-old classes, as well as three day and five day 4-year-old-classes. Our classes run from 9:15 to 12:15 September to May. We are state certified with religious exemption. Music, Art & Drama Camp is held in August of each year.  This camp is for rising third to rising sixth graders.  We encourage the children to use their artistic abilities to learn about God and praise Him.  The children use music, art, drama, poetry and more to express their love for God.  At the end of the camp, an open house is held and the children perform their plays & music and display their crafts for their families.  Registration is held in July.

Jesus said in Matthew 19:14, "Let the little children come to me. Don't stop them, because the kingdom of heaven belongs to people who are like these children." Here at Ebenezer, we keep that verse close to our hearts when we minister to children.

Our mission in Children's Ministries is to provide a strong spiritual foundation that helps each young person come to know Christ as their personal savior and to grow in their faith. This will enable them to have a life-long walk with Christ and a healthy relationship with the Church.
