The vision of the Care Ministries is to provide support and encouragement to those in our congregation who are in need.

Here are some of our regular Care Ministries serving opportunities.

GriefShare

GriefShare is a special weekly seminar/support group for people grieving the death of someone close. It's a place where you can be around people who understand how you feel and the pain of your loss. At GriefShare, you'll learn valuable information that will help you through this difficult time in your life. Childcare provided. This is an open group and can be joined at anytime.

DivorceCare

DivorceCare helps people find healing for the hurt of separation and divorce. The weekly sessions are with a friendly, caring group of people who will walk alongside you through one of life's most difficult experiences. They are led by people who understand what you are going through and who want to help. During the sessions, you'll gain access to resources that will help you deal with the pain of the past and look forward to rebuilding your life. Childcare is available.

Prayers & Squares

Pray in the spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints. Ephesians 6:18

“While the fabrics may be beautiful and the stitches that bind them may be even and tight, it is the prayers–our minds and hearts lifted to God on behalf of others–that make a prayer quilt an instrument of grace. The prayer quilt is a tool. Only God is the healer. What does it mean to be a ‘member’ of the Prayer Quilt Ministry or to ‘belong’ to a Prayers & Squares chapter? There are no membership cards, no membership dues, no embarrassing initiation rituals; not even a secret handshake. You don’t even have to quilt or sew. All you have to do to be a member of the Prayer Quilt Ministry is to pray.” (Taken from Fabric of Faith – A Guide to the Prayer Quilt Ministry by Kimberly Winston)

Here are some of the ways we can use your help:

Table attendants

Quilts laid out for tying by the congregation in the Narthex are attended by one or two people whom direct and assist people who are tying knots and answer questions about the ministry.

Attaching ties

This crucial part of the ministry and doesn’t require any special training! We do this as part of our monthly workshop.

Quilters

Sewing of the quilt tops and finishing the quilt bindings. We have many patterns that have been designed by Prayers & Squares chapters around the country.
