kNOw Hunger

Ebenezer Church   -
Due to Covid-19 and current community safety guidelines, all activities associated with our upcoming kNOw Hunger event will be postponed until spring 2021. This was not an easy decision; we recognize how much families enjoy serving and learning together in our community. We also understand how much the global and local organizations who benefit from the event need support, especially now.

With that in mind, Ebenezer has committed to donating the entire 2020 kNOw Hunger budget, $35,000, to charities fighting food insecurity. Those charities include Rise Against Hunger, the organization that facilitates our annual packing of 75,000 meals, S.E.R.V.E., our local food pantry partner, Stafford Food Security, our local partner feeding students year-round, and Rice Beans Ministries, our Costa Rican mission partner.

I hope that you will join us supporting these, and the many other organizations, supporting the most vulnerable during this crisis and throughout the year.

We look forward to an amazing kNOw Hunger event in 2021.

Did you know more than 792 million people worldwide are chronically malnourished? Did you know more than 46 million Americans struggle to get enough to eat? Did you know more than 983,000 Virginians lack consistent access to adequate food? Did you know one in eight children in Virginia struggles with hunger?

Once you know, it’s hard to say no to helping end hunger. Join us for our 5th annual kNOw Hunger event Spring 2021, to fight hunger in Stafford and around the world.

Building on the success of past events, kNOw Hunger offers many different ways to get involved. Volunteers will pack 75,000 meals to answer the need for food worldwide. We’ll also dispatch teams to serve locally with our partner organizations, like S.E.R.V.E. and Micah Ministries. Last year’s event drew more than 550 participants who worked nearly 875 hours against food insecurity.

So, how will you kNOw Hunger? That’s up to you. Feel free to choose the serving opportunities that best fit your schedule and preferences. There are plenty of ways to serve individually, as a family, or with your small group. Volunteers do not need to be members of our congregation, so invite your neighbors and colleagues to join us. kNOw Hunger is a great way to introduce a new friend to our dynamic church community.

HELP SUPPORT STAFFORD FOOD SECURITY | Stafford Food Security will be selling BBQ sandwiches and fixings for lunch. Great way to wrap-up the day supporting this fundraiser.
