February 26 7:00 pm
Wednesday, February 26 is known as Ash Wednesday. It’s a day to remember our sin and its consequences, that from dust we came and to dust we shall return. It marks the beginning of the season of Lent, a 40-day journey (technically 46 but Sundays aren’t counted) when we reflect on our human mortality and fickleness so that we might be better prepared to receive the Messiah. Typically, during Lent, we might give up something of worldly value to pick up a spiritual discipline of heavenly value. Lent beckons us to reflect on the significance of Jesus’ ministry and on the painful sacrifices God in Christ made for the world.
No registration needed to come to our Ash Wednesday Service. Come as you are and join us for worship at 7:00 PM on February 26.
This Lent, we invite all small groups to participate in a church-wide book and bible study. The book is called Get Real: Sharing Your Everyday Faith Every Day by John S. Leonard. We encourage you to purchase the Kindle or eBook version.
New groups will be forming for this six-week study as well. We hope you will consider being part of a group and pray that your Lenten journey draws you closer to the love and grace of our Triune God. If you haven’t joined a small group yet, now would be a great time! Join us in the Gym to sign up for a small group on February 16 and 23 after each service or contact Chrissy Leathers using the form below.
