We invite you to join us for our Online Ash Wednesday Service on Wednesday, March 5 at 9:30 AM and 7:00 PM.
Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of the season of Lent which is a journey of self-examination, spiritual reflection and penitence. It is a journey of prayer, fasting, and spiritual growth that requires us to face the cross in our mortality and sin. Lent invites us to reflect on Jesus’ ministry and the painful sacrifices God in Crist made for the world and for each of us. We place ashes on our heads to mark our mortality, that we come from and will return to dust. We open ourselves to receive and follow Christ in his path of sacrificial love. May we return to God with all our heart as in Joel 2:12-13
