Why are we considering opening a daycare?

  • Families in Stafford County are projected to grow by more than 13% in the next four years (source:MissionInsite).
  • Military and government families are especially in need of reliable, affordable childcare as remote work opportunities decrease.
  • A daycare ministry allows us to respond to this need while living out our calling to be a light in the community.

What will we be providing?

  • Full-time care plus before- and after-care options for preschool students
  • Open weekdays, 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM
  • Children ages 6 weeks through Pre-K
  • Bright, renovated spaces in the basement with access to the playground, gym, and nursery rooms
  • Professional staff providing safe, Christ-centered care
  • Full-time and part-time employment opportunities

Why is this important?

  • Builds on the strong reputation of Ebenezer Preschool
  • Provides long-term connections with families in our community
  • Helps offset church operating costs, making better use of underutilized space during the week
  • Supports our mission of discipleship, starting with the youngest in our community

Will KidzCare still be offered?

  • Yes, the church will continue to offer KidzCare in support of church-sponsored small groups and activities in the current nursery rooms in the Main Building

Will there be facility changes?

  • Room B01 (Youth Room) and the basement kitchen and restrooms will remain accessible with the elevator and available to church ministry, including Student Ministry
  • The remaining rooms that will be dedicated to the daycare will be painted and have flooring changes, the showers in the basement restrooms will be converted to toilet stalls, and a wall with security door built in the hallway. The playground will be expanded to incorporate safe play for toddlers, and we’re considering changing the gym stage to a storage area.

When is this going to happen?

  • No major changes until 2026; target opening will be in the fall of 2026
  • Hiring key staff and preparing facilities will begin in the new year

How can I learn more?
