A New Thing
The Prophet Isaiah calls the Israelites to Remember, Forget, and then to Look Ahead. This call from God is to remember the past, but not live there. Living in the past is disabling. It means you can never be fully satisfied with today. Living in the past keeps you from seeing God is doing; or hearing what He is saying right now. It’s one thing to learn from the past, but it’s quite another to live in the past. God is always doing a new thing! From Genesis to Revelation—we find hope that in life, in death, in life beyond death, our God live, acts, creates, intervenes, intrudes, and moves among us. Our God is always at work making all things new!
