4th Saturday Meal

April 27, 2:30 pm - September 28 - 5:30 pm

Ebenezer serves one large, community-style meal for our unhoused neighbors and community members on behalf of Micah Ministries and their Meals Outreach program. Ebenezer volunteers will meet at Fredericksburg United Methodist Church in downtown Fredericksburg to prepare the meal in their kitchen and serve neighbors in their gathering room. Additionally, we may deliver a limited number of meals to those clients staying at a local motel or we may be asked to serve outdoors. For more information, please contact Amy Miller using the form below.

What: A small volunteer team preps, cooks, serves, and cleans up a healthy dinner for approximately 50 – 100 guests, mostly Micah Ministries’ clients.

Prep, Cook and Serve: No special skills are needed, and there are no culinary requirements! All supplies are brought by the program leaders; volunteers only need to show up ready to work. We will prepare the meal in the Fredericksburg UMC kitchen, box it up ‘to go’ style and serve guests. We have jobs for all skill and comfort levels.

Age Restriction: Most of our volunteers are over 10 years old. However, if you feel your younger child is capable of helping prepare a meal at home, they are welcome here!

Where: Fredericksburg United Methodist Church (308 Hanover St, Fredericksburg, VA 22401 – use Princess Anne Street kitchen entrance)

Time Commitment: 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM
