Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of the season of Lent, a 40-day journey when we reflect on our human mortality so that we might be better prepared to receive the Messiah. Lent is a season of reflection, prayer, penitence, and spiritual growth. We often add practices that will help us grow and give up practices and parts of our lives that hold us back from growing in faith. Lent beckons us to reflect on the significance of Jesus’ ministry and on the sacrifice God in Christ made for the world.
The Ash Wednesday services will include music, the imposition of ashes, and an extended time of prayer. KidzCare nursery will be available for children ages 0-3 during both services. Our high school students will serve a Pancake Supper in the Gym from 5:30-6:45 PM to raise funds for their summer mission trip.
