Joseph of Bethlehem
The town of Bethlehem was rich in history. It played host to patriarchs and matriarchs, prophets and kings, but God told the people of Bethlehem that their best days were yet to come. And come they did, with the help of a man named Joseph. We know so much about Bethlehem but so little about Joseph. We do know one thing, though. God is referred to as father 15 times in the Old Testament and 163 times in the four Gospels. Why the change? Perhaps it was because Jesus saw God through the lens of his earthly father, so when it came time to teach the world about God, Jesus simply began to call him Abba. In this installment of The Journey, we learn about a famous town and an ordinary dad.
