Making Wishes Come True

Amy Miller   -

Angel Tree is a beloved holiday tradition spanning many generations at Ebenezer Church. It is a loving way to bring a glimmer of happiness and joy to those in need by providing gifts and making wishes come true for children and seniors. In addition to gifts, every family or senior is also supplied with two to three boxes of food staples for the holiday weeks ahead. As we look for ways to spread the love of Jesus this season, Angel Tree is the perfect opportunity to involve the whole family in a spirit of generosity and service.

You can select one Angel – or a few! – from our online SignUp Genius, making it easy to scroll though the list and find the perfect match for your inner Santa! Or you can find a few printed Angel Tree cards at the Connection Desk on Sunday mornings. Return your wrapped gifts with a tag per the instructions no later than December 11. Gifts can be placed under the Christmas trees in the Lobby each day or at the Angel Tree tables in the Gym on December 11.

If you prefer to let our elves do the shopping, you may donate to the Angel Tree Food Boxes. While any amount will make a difference, $30 and $50 options will provide up to one or two weeks’ worth of holiday staples.

Ebenezer works directly with Stafford County Social Services and with Stafford County Public Schools to deliver gifts to children and seniors in need each Christmas. Gifts are then sorted and organized by family or school to be picked up at the church. Additional gifts are purchased if necessary and food for every family is shopped for and boxed.

Please consider serving with Angel Tree at some point over the holiday season. You can shop for gifts, sort and organize food, assemble boxes, and help deliver these treasures to those in need. You will in turn experience the gifts of joy and peace we all seek during this hectic season. A complete list of volunteer opportunities is available here.
